A Wonderful Surprise..

Just received an early wedding gift from my beloved friends & colleagues (Jean.. Sarinah & Harriet) in PTA office... I'm tottaly lost for words.. TOTALLY..

Huhuhuuuu.. I feel like a sore loser right now.. HR and L&D department has organized a "People Week" in SMDS for the whole week with lots of attraction i.e :  free foods , info booth , games and of course super boring and long talk about people development and job skills.. 

What interest people like me there is not really about the free foods (although , they have a KILLER laksa and bubur chacha today! Damn, I miss that Laksa! Should've come early) nor about the game.. and ABSOLUTELY not about that people development talk... WHAT did interest me is this ....

...RM50 New World Shopping Voucher...

The game was easy (or at least I think it was).. You just have to hit all the total 8 bottles with tennis balls.. It didn't matter how you do it (throw or roll) as long as you hit all the pins and you would get a RM50 New World Shopping Voucher! Yayyy! 

OR ... if you failed to hit all the pins and become a loser like me (I do not hit even A SINGLE PIN.. How's that for irony.. hahahhaa) then you will get this nice and sweet thing instead.. 

Btw , apart from being teased and laughed by fellow colleagues for that *ehem* "talent" moment , I was enjoying myself.. Of course I'm enjoying myself.. Being away from a desk fully loaded with MOMs from last 2 meetings , costing works and TA execution team o-chart thingy definitely put a bigggggggg smile on my stressed-but-try-to-look-cute face.. 

 Owh , no... You just saw 10% of the work.. There are much more at the other side of my table.. Hohohoo..

Hmmm.. HR should have organize something like this every now and then.. 

**While I was on my desk , having a break with Kitkat , I got an email saying I have a futsal training tonight at 10pm-11pm.. ha-ha-ha-ha-aaa...... (laughing nervously...) Damn.. Should I just delete the email and pretend like I didn't received it? Muhuuuuuhuuuu... Heck.. Alrigh then.. (close eyes) *tick-tick* *GASP!!! What??? I hit an "AGREE" button.. Huwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.. FML! ***

 Man!!! I should've click "tentative" .. (btw, errr.. why did my face look like that?)

I'm having trouble sleeping last night , (probably coz of "wedding" hype) and ended up woke up as late for work this morning.. plus, my alarm clock in my cellphone didn't work good.. GAHHHH!!!

As a result, I feel damn sleepy for the entire morning.. Not to mention during the meeting with the big shot of SMDS.. While I'm supposedly taking minutes of meeting... I was drifted away from that meeting room to a HAPPY PLACE...

Yeaaaa.. this happen to me a lot these few days.. Darn that unicorn! huhuhuuu..

I need help getting myself out of this Happy Place..

First Day at SMDS Part 2

11.45 AM

Ryan showed me around the SMDS .. It was really a nice gesture.. Back at the place I used to work, people there never even cared to show you around.. You just find the way by yourself , and that includes humiliating yourself for the case of wondering around the buildings trying to locate your department... (based on personal experience) The HR , Finance and Procurement department are merged together into 1 floor.. Compared to the other company , here in SMDS, they pay a small role and consist of small group of staffs.. And then we came to the "important part" which is CAFETERIA.. huhuhu.. Although as Ryan put it , "it's best to have lunch outside", but the cafe isn't bad looking at all.. Just nice and cozy..

12:00 PM

Having my lunch with Moushie at Madly's.. Was a bit surprised that the restaurant was a lil' deserted.. It usually packed with "Petronasans" and "Shellians" and you didn't get seated if you there by 12.00.. Then spend the rest of 30mins left with Moushie..

1.00 PM

Finally I got some work to do.. Help Ryan did some adjustment to the spreadsheets.. If not because of my period cramp and the sleepiness , I might finished the work before 4PM..

Actually , what's get to me is that Ryan was asking if I would like to learn something and he and the PTA team would gladly teach me.. I was flabbergasted and honestly in awe for a working community to be this concern to the contract staff... They treat you no different from the rest of the staff , which is very very cool.. I didn't get this kind of encouragement back at the place that I used to work.. I definitely feel motivated to do my very best when I get this kind of encouragement..

** Got back from work and feel super tired.. Huhuhu.. actually more on super sleepy.. Gotta hit the sack early today.. *YAWN* **

Yeaaa.. definitely don't want this to happen , again tomorrow..

First Day at SMDS PART 1

My first day of work today~ Yayyyy!!

I'm quite nervous as it's been quite a while since the last I've been working for a major company.. Alhamdulillah.. so far , it's a good day for me..

5.15 AM

*my h/p alarm went off.. I was awake at the time , but.... falled right to sleep again :-D considering how cold it is early in the morning..

5.46 AM

SHOOT!! I'm late!! I quickly called Moushie , and rushed myself to the bathroom.. wowowoo.. I can't believe myself .. My first day at the big company and I'm already late.. :-( Luckily I already prepared my clothes , and things that needed to be brought last night... NOTE TO SELF : Go on get myself ready as soon as I wake up..!

6.15 AM

Waiting for Moushie.. The view today was spectacular.. I didn't notice how nice it is out here.. (busted for being a sleepy head.. :-D ) The sky was like that off the painting.. Very nice.. And there were canes flying across the sky.. (er.. I mean cane as in bird.. not the cane that like sugar cane or that off the elderly used)

6.50 AM

I'm arrived at Shell MDS.. lots of contractors in green coverall (standard color coding for contractor's coverall) but I haven't notice anyone who wears something like me.. Unlike in MLNG where you could notice everyone right away.. But not here.. hmm...

I got passed the security .. The security here is also friendly.. The one that I met is a local.. Even chatted with me a little bit and is surprised with the fact that I'm a local but couldn't speak any word of local dialect (which is Melanau Bintulu..) :-D

Thank goodness that I remember where the PTA office is and it safe me some time to get there as I was already late... muhuhuhu.. When I already at the office , there were only a few staffs there.. Hmmm.. as what I've thought.. 7AM is a tad too early for someone to start working.. :-D hihihihi.. I sat at the table just infront of the meeting room (which was also the venue of my interview with Mr. Dave and Ryan..) and sat there for ahout an hour before Ryan arrived.. I met few colleagues : Amin and Ho.. Very friendly people.. There were also a few but still haven't introduce myself properly to them..

8.15 AM

Ryan arrived meaning I will start working! But wait... I don't have a smart card yet.. Yes , you heard it right.. You need a smart card to use a pc here in SMDS.. So , after everything's ready , I'm all set for any given task.. Surprisingly.. :

Ryan : So, has everything set up just right?
Me : Yup..
Ryan : Good .. Now you can surf the net..
Me : *speechless or rather jump myself in joy :-D*

It's 9.21 AM right now and I'm blogging right from my desk at work.. :-D Still awaiting for any task for me to do , but Ryan said today I will just sit there by myself and get familiar with the system --> polite way to say go rest yourself.. :-D

What a day... :_(

Today was not a good day for me...

1) Got an annoying wrong phone call from a loan shark..

2) I was on leave (and informed my immediate supervisor) but somehow the "self appointed" HR Manager denied my leave and questioned all my works .... :-( Spoiled my mood for the whole day..

3) I got a rude horned later that evening.. adding to my bad mood

4) I accidentally gave my boss extra RM35 change.. How stupid...

5) Got home and feeling like eating something , so I went to the fridge to get my leftover burger , but ended up in disappointment 'coz my nephew already finish it on my behalf... :-( NOTE TO SELF : Never leave any leftover in the fridge , again..

So.. basically I am having quite a day... It drained the good feeling I have and definitely lowing my morale....

Oh My.. My First Days of Working...

Hey guys.. Hmmm.. I've been missing my daily blogging for past couple of days.. But today since I have so much to share , despite all that exhaustion , I'm going to write in an entry anyway..

It's been quite an experience for my new job .. I was thankfully to GOD that I didn't wear very formal attire like baju kurung on my first day , or else risking myself to be the laughing stock of the whole contractors.. Well , for starters , the path leading to the site office was covered by nothing more than mud.. And I was blessed that day that I didn't also wear my heels.. GOD knows what happen...

There's nothing much to talk about the work colleagues except that they are all very friendly.. It's nice to have a positive environment like this after so many years of bad experiences..

Then.. I got my PPE.. A boot and a safety helmet.. When I say a boot , it's REALLY a boot.. like the one people wear on rainy day.. and the best part is.. IT'S YELLOW! Exactly like Phua Chu Kang.. Huhuhuhu.. The boot's size is quite big and I could saw myself walking like a Ronald Mcdonald... without the clown outfit and balloons... :-D

Come to think of it , the boots are actually pretty cute.. :-D

And today.. I have my first "public toilet at site area" experience.. And let me tell you , I barely survived in there... I had a horrible "2 girls and a cup" flashback just after my eyes had glanced to the "interesting" content floating about... I might have to do some chocolate and ice-cream fasting for a week.. TRAUMA!!!
