First day of work.. Tomorrow

Tomorrow will be my first day reporting as a clerk site for SSGP Project site.. (that's Sabah-Sarawak Gas Pipeline).. A little bit nervous about the idea of exposing myself to the new environment and meeting new people , but I'm going to try my best to project a good impression.. So.. no more late night surfing.. no more late nite Lizzie McGuire.. and no more late nite gaming.. buhuhuhuhuuuu.. will greatly miss that... Tomorrow have to wake as early as 5am to make myself some lunch and off we go to work at 6am..Wait a minute.. 6 am..???? Ye-ah... 6 AM as in 6 in the morning where most of people still cozily in bed..

But.. that's okay.. I think.. Coz around the area I'll be heading is bound to be hit by traffic jam and going at 6am will be beneficial to me.. Plus it's time to get some fresh air! I've been trapped in my home without any fresh morning air for about 6 months already.. huhuhuhu..

Wish me luck on my new job okay..?

Makeup oh Makeup..

Have you ever come across a picture of a model with flawless feature and gorgeous make-up , and you wondering why you are nothing like her..? Well.. You not alone.. :-) I am too sometimes feel a little insecure of myself looking less than perfect.. I would beat myself up on the idea of why I would never look good in make-up..?

I'm gonna admit that I am at no way an expert when it comes to subject MAKE UP.. The only make-up I put on when I go out would be some moisturizer, press powder, lip gloss and a mascara.. If I have time I would put on some eyeliner or may be a bit and subtle eye shadow.. That's it.. No foundation , loose powder , primer , bronzer , blusher or any fancy-schmancy stuff you heard on the magazine.. The only fancy thing I bought would be a pore smoother I got on sale , which as they claim would matte your face (whatever that means..)

I have few former work colleagues that swear would never gone out of their home without putting on any make-up .. And some even willing to get up as early as 5.30 am just to put on their make-up before going to work (which btw start at 7.30am)..

The make-up result varies from one to another.. Some have a barely there make-up (I am) , moderate one and some even masked their face like a geisha.. (I'm talking EXTREMELY COVERED IN MAKE-UP) .. I'm not against someone who put so much make-up on their face , in fact , if it's what would make they feel confident , I respect that.. It's just that sometimes I feel slightly uncomfortable.. especially when that person is trying to "convert" you to be just like her..

And one more thing that bugs me out is make-up when you get married.. It's a woman DILEMMA whenever she'll get married.. I mean , you have to look different from everyday look , but also you DO NOT wanna look silly on your wedding day.. I have witnessed some of the brides who have quite a disaster make-up on their face and I was wondering "what the hell that they are thinking??" What I meant by disaster is , you look nothing like yourself.. You have like literally putting a mask in your face.. and worst , your husband to be not knowing that it is actually YOU! What's the meaning of a wedding if a groom would not recognize you??

Which has brought me into a conclusion that LESS is MORE.. I have learn from few experiences that whenever I put on much make-up on my face , I would turn out very silly.. (Oh , yes it is very silly) And I stressed this idea to myself until the day I get married.. I will find me a mak andam that willing to make me look beautiful without loosing myself .. means subtle makeup.. Like this --->
and without looking like this --->
See what I meant..? ;-) Okay , it might not be fair for me to compare a celebrity but , you get the idea.. :-D

So , next time you stress out when you have seen people wearing so much makeup and you feel nothing compare to them , well , just remember that beauty is not only by appearances.. You can be beauty through being happy and feeling good about yourself.. Sometimes whatever we see in magazine is not as great as we thought it would.. :-)

The DOW..

"Oiiiiiiiiiii!! Jgn aaa sentuh kete aku.. Mahal DOW!!"

"Ko tengok awek tu.. Perghhhhh!! Lawa DOW!!"

"Aku excident hari tu doctor jahit x pakai bius DOW.."

"Giler mahal DOW baju tu!!"

Urgh!! Is it just me or has anyone else annoyed with this DOW expression people nowadays seems bother to add in their every conversation? I don't know what's the meaning of the word nor I know the origin of it.. May be it was spoken by people from a planet Zarbus , I don't know but it ANNOYS the hell of me..

**Perhaps it was origin from the word "BODOH?" like when you wanna said "Sakit la BODOH" but don't wanna sound disrespectful to your friends , and changed it to "Sakit la DOH!" Which then revolutionized to DOW.. Yeah , there's one more "contagious" thing happening in our society when people tend to add too much DABELYU (W) in their words (especially in facebook)
i.e : Amek sik TAWUK kenak PEWUT amek cakit ilak EWH..**

Urghhhhhhhh.....

Nostalgia Mode...

I believe everyone here has read comics or watch anime of Chibi Maruko Chan.. The comic/anime was about the simple everyday life of a 9-year-old girl name Momoko Sakura and was called Maruko chan.. Maruko was raised in a relatively poor family consists of 6 members .. Maruko chan was described as a lazy girl , very disorganized , always late for school , and sometimes rather silly..

Actually , I find that Maruko chan is very relatable to me coz back when I was little I am quite of a child .. You name it.. I was lazy.. always picking up on other kids.. and to tell you the truth , I'm a bit of a tomboy.. When I was in grade 6th , I broke my arm while playing with fellow school friends (mostly boys).. It was about 2 weeks before Raya and may be GOD wants me to remember that dreadful day, my family happens to have our first family picture taken on the 2nd day of Raya.. My hand was cast with plaster and I was hiding it in the picture.. huhuhuhuhu..

I remembered when I met few of my SRB St. Anthony schoolmate , they'll never recognized me at first and will asked "Hey , you guys remember a girl who intimidated by practically everyone in the school? I wonder what happen to her.. what's her name again?" And I was like "You mean Tey?" "Yaaaa!!! She's the one.. Wow , you know her?" and... after I said "It was me" , every body was silence.. with a jaw dropped..

This is me in "tomboy mode".. The picture was taken when I was in Secondary school, 7th grade.. It's EXTREMELY hard to see me wear anything girly that time.. In fact I shout NO to girly stuff.. Huhuhuhu

And.. This was me during my engagement day at the end of 2009..

See the different? :-D

Let's Berulam Mangga~

Uwaaaaaaaaaa.. it's embarrassing to talk about food again.. But there's one Sarawak culture , particular in Bintulu that I'm excited to talk about..

Most of Malaysia loves "belacan" or shrimp paste, and every states in Malaysia have different style of "sambal"made of belacan.. When I was in Penang , the sambal was slightly watery with a bit of shallot and lots of cili padi or bird chilies.. which is very hot.. The sambal can be eaten alone with rice which was kinda strange for me at first seeing that in my hometown , sambal belacan was considered as a dipping for various kind of veggies and sometimes fruit.. Okay , at my part of the city (and I believe in others at Sarawak too) , when mangoes season start booming , it is time for "ulam mangga".. What it is exactly : Sambal Belacan : I usually made a simple one (coz I'm lazy) which consist of a tiny bit of belacan (about 2cm) coz I don't want the taste too overwhelming , some cili padi (2 or 3) , sugar and a bit of kicap manis (sweet soy sauce) .. To make it , pound belacan , cili padi and sugar together until it forms a paste (using mortar or if you haven't got any , just use a blender) Take out the paste and place in a bowl .. Add some sweet soy sauce and tadah!! Your sambal belacan is ready..

Your fruit of choice : People always used unripe mango 'coz it goes well with the sweet and spicy sambal.. But you can use whatever fruit you fancy like unripe papaya and all.. The reason I believe for people to choose unripe fruit is because of its texture (crunchy) and the sourness which gives it balance to the sambal : Spicy - sweet and sour.. ;-) Sometimes , me and my sister would use asam paya which is very common in Sarawak.. (can't find it anywhere in Semenanjung Malaysia but I believe some part may have it) and it's very, very sour..

This is "asam paya" (credits to lalaupenemu.blogspot.com)

And this is ulam mangga.. Believe me , despite the sourness , I can finish this all by myself..

But , there are some people who dislike belacan , like my father.. :-D Ironically he's originally from Bintulu and Bintulu is a city where bintulu's belacan is so well known throughout Sarawak.. My sister always tease my father into eating belacan .. :-D hehehehe.. But , belacan could be considered as an acquired taste.. Like natto in Japan , or marmite in UK..

Not very convincing computer technician...

Based on an actual event.. Hmmm.. :-(

Salad-ing

I just learn a new recipe today~ I watch a video from Chris Crocker (okay , I admit I find him entertaining.. especially when he goes a bit wacky.. ) and he share one of his "signature recipe" on youtube called "Fry Salad".. Believe me , when I saw him prepare those salad , I can feel my saliva drooling from my mouth.. It is look tasty.. Since I'm pretty much hungry at that time , I give this recipe a shot..
This is the finished product.. Look pretty good rite?

Okay.. What you basically need is :

Butterhead Lettuce (as many as you care to throw on your plate)
Sliced almonds (if you haven't got any , just use whatever nuts you have)
Red onion (its taste a bit overwhelming and pungent so , slice the onion thinly)
Fries (fried one of course or if you're lazy enough to fry some , get some from a fast food restaurant)
Cheese (originally the recipe calls for feta cheese but since I don't have it , I used cheddar)
Dressing of your choice (I'm using barbecue sauce.. I don't care what y'all saying about adding up calories to the salad but I like my salad this way.. Plus , you ain't going to see me eating that much veggies if you put usual , boring dressing on it)

Of course you could customize some of the ingredients yourself.. You can throw some chicken (if you are a meat eater like me) or may be can add in some cereal like Chris does..

Hope y'all enjoy the recipe as I do.. and happy salad-ing! ☺~

Oh ya.. last weekend , my sister-in-law and me were baking this sweet called "Apam".. It's basically like cupcakes but instead of baking it in the oven , we steamed it.. And we add some ice-cream sodas in place of butter.. It is very tasty and fluffy.. I might try it again , some other time and share the recipe.. ;-)

Very rainbowy.. I love it..~

You need an ANGER MANAGEMENT when...

If you are like this every time you in a conversation , you really need some anger management, like PRONTO! :-/

Have you ever encounter a bloody high-strung , angry , temper person before? Like when you ask someone nicely , that person responded like you just pick a fight with him/her.. Observe the conversation :

Tey : A.. do you work on Tuesday?
A : Of course! Who the hell not working on Tuesday (in high note) you mother-f*****

or

Tey : Could you move your feet a bit? I can't see it blocking the tv..
A : Hell you are..

Pretty rude right? So what I do when I'm in this situation? Just back-off.. There's nothing I can do to temperamental people.. If you said something back will only add fire to his/her temper and worst , you might get a black eye later.. Not a good respond..

What you guys do when you actually met / deal with temperamental person? Tell me ya? ;-)

Elvish Thingy..

I was watching Lord of The Ring today and for millionth of time , I fall in love with the Evenstar necklace.. I wish there's a Malaysian online store that I can bought.. It may take some time for me to actually buy this as it quite pricey.. RM434.00 .. May be later when I got a new job..

I was thinking of making this one as a wedding ring for Moushie.... What do you guys think? ;-)

Going Ga-Ga Over F4

I remember when Meteor Garden was a hit and everyone was going gaga over the Taiwanese F4 .. My little sister even bought the F4 sticker and stick 'em at my parents room (which now is MY ROOM!) Huhuhuhu.. Btw , I watched this series 'coz my college roommate's bought the CDs and she wouldn't stop talking about how she was head over heels for those F4.. So , I was naturally curious..

For me it was okay but when I finally get my hands on the latest F4 - Boys over Flowers , I change my mind about this series.. I was immediately fall in love.. (I wish I felt the same for Meteor Garden though...)

Hana Yori Dango

Meteor Garden

Boys Over Flower

Overall Review

Actually I am yet to watch Japanese version of Boys over Flowers but what I can say from the trailer that I watched , Makino is SO KAWAII!!! Wuwuuwuwu.. I think she’s the best female protagonist of the series..

Was okay.. Am not much of a fan when this series were out.. Probably because I’m not much into something people in college were going ga-ga with.. (I gotta admit that I am a bit weird back in college.. I tend not to like things that everybody else was into)

One word – AWESOME!!! I was a bit skeptical at first but just minutes after the 1st episode I was immediately in love with the story flow , characters and emotion projection ..

Characters

Hmmmm.. I gotta say the only character I fancied is Makino.. She’s cute!!

Hua Ze Lei is the winner!! I can see him portraying the first love interest of Shan Chai.. And he’s perfect

Although I adore Goo Jyun Po , but my absolute favourite would be So Yi Jeung!!! Aaaaaa… I know he’s a playboy in that series but the heck , I fall head over heels for him!!

Storyline Wise

Erkk.. sorry guys .. I hope I can watch this series soon and will give my thought about it..

I like the fact when Shan Chai stands up against the F4 when she send back the “red letter” to them .. What I DON’T LIKE is when Dao Ming Shi’s lost his memory.. Too much lagging on that part.. L

Love the story flow pace although it comes a little rushing .. I would love to see Geum Jan Di get revenge for F4 treatment over her .. Not much to see except when she kick Goo Jyun Poo.. hahhaha.. Also , I wish there’s more to So Yi Jeung developed relationship with Chu Ga Eul..

Star Rating

No stars yet.. (I will watch the series later)

3 out of 5

4.5

My first comic after so many years...

Phewwww.. took a while to doodle this through Chogger.com .. Huhuhuhu.. Hope you guys like it.. ;-)

p.s : please click onto the picture to enlarge..

Easily Cook? ...NOT!

Have you ever watch a certain cooking channel which featuring effortless looking dishes? Then you're like "wow... I should try this".. But then , when you ACTUALLY try it , it's not as effortless as in the tv.. Well.... I've been there... :-D

There's one time when I saw this chef (I forgot what's the name of the TV show) baked what you called "Chocolat Au Fondant".. What it is basically is a french dessert consist of chocolate cake with a warm-gooey filling inside.. Sounds delicious right? Okay , so there I was drooling in front of tv watching this chef preparing the cake.. (well , to tell you the truth the chef is very good looking himself so , I might as well distracted by his feature :-D ) He make it look so easy to prepare which then sorta encourage me to try it myself...

So.. I tried.. I was so confident that the cake will turn out just as great as it looks on tv.. But! What I don't anticipated was .... my "Chocolat Au Fondant" which supposed to have gooey chocolate filling inside turn to solid full baked cake.. I am pretty sure that I follow all the direction accordingly , but I dunno.. I was so disappointed by the outcome , I didn't even wanna try to bake it again...

But.. Moushie told me it was okay.. Not as blah as it look.. Hmmmm.. may be I should try again.. :-D

Wedding Dilemma..

I am sick of wedding trend nowadays.. It's like "A MUST" to have a lavish wedding even if you couldn't afford it.. People make such a fuss when you wanna have a small and simple wedding.. I don't know who start this crappy trend but it REALLY has to end..

I gotta tell you , wedding nowadays is kinda overrated.. You HAFTA have a super-duper wedding to be recognized in the society.. You HAFTA have that super-duper high-end designer wedding apparel , super-duper HD edited wedding video , super-duper fancy-smancy guest gifts , super-duper expensive and branded "hantaran" etc..etc... (If you guys don't know what "hantaran is , it means money which was given by the groom to the bride-to-be to cover all the wedding cost especially on the catering.. Usually the amount was decided during "merisik"..) I mean what the hell..? Isn't it just enough to have a simple yet memorable wedding? It's the thought that counts.. Not how much you spend... And there's one thing I can't stand about our society is when they comparing your "hantaran" with the others .. Observe the conversation :

Makcik A : Wowwwwwwwwww... Mia's so lucky to have a stable husband.. Her RM33,333.33 hantaran is just grand..
Makcik B : Yeah.. my daughter got RM18,619.84.. In honor for her birthday..
Makcik A : Good for you.. The amount is just enough.. Nowadays , with the things so expansive , you just gotta have no less than RM15K.. I mean , it's your BIG DAY .. You have to spend a little to celebrate the once in your life time event , right?
Makcik B : I couldn't agree more.. Hey.. Tey , (turn to me) you just got engaged right? How much is your hantaran?
Me : Ummm.. RM10K..
Makcik A & Makcik B : Owhhh....... (end the conversation and started whispering to each other)

Have you ever encounter some crappy situation like that? It's like you just being "branded" according to your "hantaran" value.. HELLOOoooooooooooo.. You're not in the decades where people are differentiate by status anymore.. We're not living in the past like P-Ramlee's Antara Dua Darjat or Kassim Selamat..

This perception of "a grand wedding is a MUST" must end.. Even in Islam , our Rasul never encourage his people to have a big wedding.. Just work on what you already have.. It's the Ijab that matters.. The moment when you are pronounced as husband and wife.. Not the ceremony.. *sigh* sorry.. I just really agitated with some people who bickering about this "you must have a grand wedding" thing...

Okay.. enough of me babbling..

The Walking Dead

Be very-very afraid..

I like zombie movies , be it the funny or the gore and horror one.. There's something about "survival" thing that made my adrenaline go rushing to my vein.. (okay.. that's a bit over the top connotation)

My friend Am has introduced a tv series which is called "Walking Dead".. I found 2 complete episode and downloaded them.. My first impression of the series is this one moving a bit slow.. I mean , if you are going to be the first one to make a hit series about zombies and stuff , you better get rid of too much "lagging-intro" .. I don't want to expose a spoiler here but , I gotta tell you the 1st introduction of the series showing the protagonist discussing about marriage issues is not going to cut it... I just forward the whole damn conversation to the part when one of the protagonist got shot and ended up in a deserted hospital..

As far as the zombies , I'm impressed .. I like the "intelligent" part of the zombies where they actually can run quite fast when they are hungry and they can actually "think".. Like when the survivors are all trapped in the mall , one of the zombie tried to get in by smashing the glass door with a brick.. And I like the fact that the zombie isn't too slow and not too fast in movement aspect.. Hate the walkers in the "28 weeks later" movie where all of them run like athletes.. Hell! How would you pass zombies with dripping blood , look sickly hungry and chasing ridiculously fast like that??? EVEN Watson Nyambek would say 'Hell no!'

Overall , despite its sluggish introduction and lack of serious zombie-chasing scene , I'm going to stick around for this series.. *am waiting for episode 3 to be uploaded*

Me Want This!!!!! So Likeyyyyy!!!

Any idea where I could get rainbow necklace like this?

I am so in love with Coach Poppy collection..

I always have a thing for charm bracelet.. And since I was kinda obsessed with rainbow nowadays , I really wanted a rainbow charm bracelet..

Since I was a kid , I always wanted a Baby-G watch but.. couldn't afford one.. :-( But now , I'm gonna have a pledge to myself to HAVE ONE.. A Yellow one to be exact!

Pink LG Lolipop.. Moushie told me LG is not a good brand for handphone but I don't care.. This one is too cute to pass on.. huhuhuhu..

If someone bought this for my birthday , I would most definitely wear this everyday..
